CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMY

Objective:

• Providing modern IT education and development of digital competencies through the creation and operation of the Cisco Network Academy.
• Professional development of teachers and students through the integration of Cisco certified programmes into academic disciplines.
• Promoting career growth in IT through participation in a global educational initiative.

Description:

The Cisco Networking Academy is the most extensive and longest-running IT education programme that promotes digital competencies and creates an inclusive future for students and educators worldwide through numerous courses related to programming, IT technologies and social media. In early December 2015, an agreement was reached between Cherkasy State Technical University and Cisco Systems Corporation to open the Cisco Network Academy at the university, making it the first university in Cherkasy region to have such an academy. An agreement was also signed with the authorised Cisco training centre at the Information and Computing Centre of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv to provide information and methodological support for creating an inter-faculty ICT laboratory. The academy is scheduled to start operating on 1 September 2016, with four teacher-trainers receiving entry-level Cisco certifications and disciplines developed based on Cisco certified programmes integrated into the educational process of students specialising in IT. The academy's grand opening was attended by representatives of the university and leading IT firms in the region. Expanding cooperation with Cisco Networking Academy began in 2019 with the Academy Support Centre (ASC) and the Instructor Training Centre (ITC) opening. In 2023, faculty members joined the Cisco Networking Academy English for IT course, and a group of students completed the English for IT course, receiving international certificates, the results of which are taken into account in the professional foreign language exam.
