BRITISH COUNCIL «ENGLISH FOR UNIVERSITIES»

Objective: To improve English language teaching at Ukrainian universities, integrate English as a medium of instruction, promote international cooperation and develop higher education in line with European standards.

Description:

As part of the project, Rod Bolitho, a leading English-language teaching specialist, and Zhanna Sevastianova, an English Language Project Manager, visited Cherkasy State Technological University (ChSTU) on 10 November 2015 for a three-day visit. During the visit, representatives of the British Council met with the Acting Rector of ChCTU, Sergiy Nazarenko, to discuss the importance of English for the academic environment and opportunities to improve English language teaching.

A Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed as part of the project between the British Council and the CTU. The main areas of cooperation include:

• Improving the methods of teaching English at the university.
• Integration of the university into the international educational community
• Obtaining additional development opportunities within the Bologna Process.
