CYBERSECURITY FOR CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE IN UKRAINE ACTIVITY
USAID Project Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure in Ukraine Activity
Project number: G0663
Priority: Capacity development in higher education
Project duration: July, 2022 – September, 2024
Cherkasy State Technological University has joined the USAID Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure Project initiative, which was launched in July 2022. The initiative focuses on improving higher education in cybersecurity, including training vectors for cybersecurity professionals and academic staff, advanced training for teachers, modernisation of educational programmes under international standards, and opening modern laboratories at the university. Upon completing the training, the department teachers passed the final Security Audit and Risk Management and Cloud Cyber Security assignments. Under the Project, 33 licences were obtained to work on the world-famous RangeForce platform, which is based on real-life cases, allowing participants to gain practical skills for use in real-life cybersecurity scenarios, perform real-life cybersecurity tasks such as vulnerability analysis, threat detection, incident response, and others. USAID's Ukraine Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Project works to reduce and potentially eliminate cybersecurity vulnerabilities in Ukraine's critical infrastructure sectors, as well as to develop new cybersecurity personnel, build talent capacity, and enhance Ukraine's ability to prepare for cyberattacks.
